Speed tests aren't able to account for Internet traffic overhead. At slower speeds we actually provision your service with approximately 10% higher speeds than what we advertise to compensate for this overhead. With 1 Gig service, the maximum ceiling for provisioning is 1000Mbps, thus we can't provision your service any faster to hide the overhead.
Certainly! There's a big gotcha though: your speed test is only as fast as the slowest link in your path to the Internet. Many times Wi-Fi connections can't provide 100% of your Internet pipe bandwidth to your device. To most accurately test your Internet speed use a wired connection.
